> CPT SpeedStart Receives 2010 European Powertrain Customer Value Enhancement Award
Controlled Power Technologies (CPT) was one of twenty-six organisations from various industries honoured at Frost & Sullivan’s 2010 Growth Excellence Awards Banquet taking place at the Emirates Stadium on the 18th of May, 2010. Ali Naini, chairman of the board, and Mike Dowsett, senior manager micro-hybrids, jointly accepted the 2010 European Powertrain Customer Value Enhancement Award for the company’s innovative CPT SpeedStart® stop-start system.

> LowCVP Technology Challenge winners presentation
Controlled Power Technologies were one of six small businesses at the leading edge of low carbon innovation in the automotive sector today who were presented as Winners of the Low CVP Technology Challenge at an event chaired by Richard Parry-Jones, co-chair of the new Automotive Council.
The other winners were: Axon Automotive, Brunel University, EVO-Electric, Libralato and Oxy-Gen Combustion. Each winning company was given the unique opportunity to pitch their ideas directly to senior executives from Nissan, Jaguar Land Rover, Ford, Tata Motors, General Motors, McLaren Automotive, Modec, Alexander Dennis, SMTC UK, Denso, GKN, Kautex-Unipart, Shell International and TRW.

> November 2009 - Delhi, India
Controlled Power Technologies joined other UK companies and delegates attending a low-carbon vehicle mission to India, timed to coincide with the 4th biennial international Environmentally Friendly Vehicle (EFV) conference held in Delhi on the 23-24 November 2009 – an event supported by UNECE (United Nations Economic Council for Europe) and sponsored by the FIA Foundation.
At a seminar held in Delhi on 25 November, Mike Dowsett, senior manager micro-hybrids, Controlled Power Technologies, joined representatives from Ricardo and MIRA in a discussion on the hybridisation of vehicles. CPT’s research and development of an electric supercharger, high efficiency starter-generator and exhaust driven turbo-generator represents the type of technology necessary for the progressive electrification of a conventional powertrain.

> October 2009 – VDI Conference
German TV focus on CPT’s SpeedStart technology at the recent VDI conference in Baden-Baden. Set in this picturesque area of the Black Forest it is a perfect venue to highlight the importance of CO2 reduction. Following prior meetings with German OEM’s, CPT’s SpeedStart vehicle captivated significant interest at the event.

> Sept 2009 - LCV2009 Cenex
Controlled Power Technologies used the excellent LCV 2009 Cenex event to showcase their two demonstration vehicles. The CPT SpeedStart, 12V Stop-Start Diesel Demonstrator and the VTES - Electric Supercharged Demonstrator were available for everybody to drive. Around100 visitors took advantage of this ocassion to experience the CO2 Reducing Technologies first hand.
Lord Drayson, the Minister for Business also spent some looking at the vehicles and discussing the benefits.

> May 2009 - JSAE
JSAE Automotive Engineering Expositions is an annual exhibit organised by the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan, Inc. (JSAE). The Exposition is held in parallel with the Annual Spring Congress at Pacifico Yokohama, where the Congress takes place. The attendees are identified as the specialists needed to build and sustain relations within the industry.

> October 2008 - Aachen Colliquium
The Aachen Colloquium is an extensive exhibition and conference for the latest and greatest in vehicle and powertrain engineering, with a strong emphasis on engine technology. In 2008 there were a significant number of very well attended hybrid powertrain related papers, perhaps reflecting the thoughts of the European industry. CPT focused on its micro-hybrid capability, exhibiting its dynamic VTES unit and showing the production level SpeedStart units for the first time.

> September 2008 - Dresden
The Supercharging Conference in Dresden has become an annual pilgrimage for all engineers involved in supercharging and boosting of internal combustion engines. CPT ‘entertained’ visitors to the exhibition area with a working VTES unit demonstrating the speed of response to input signals. Guy Morris, CPT Engineering Director, presented a paper at the conference titled ‘Transient Torque Enhancement and Emissions Reduction Potential of a Highly Dynamic Supercharger’.

> May 2008 - JSAE
CPT chose this event, organised by the Japanese Society of Automotive Engineers, to introduce CPT to the Japanese market. Although some Japanese OEMs were already conducting product evaluations most were unaware of their acquisition by CPT. The show was also an excellent opportunity for the CPT management team to gauge the true level of hybridisation underway in Asia.

> March 2008 - Stuttgart
